Wizards, magicians, ilusionists, strange people gather in strange places, some seek to hone their art, others seek other goals, but they often find each other.
Traditional defence means nothing in the face of such arts, only magic can counter magic, and such is not free
Magic brings magic, wasting brings nothing
Default keybinds can be changed in OPTIONS:
A - light attack
S - heavy attack
Z - counterspell
Arrow keys - moviment
Enter - taunt
Counterspell is your one and only way to defend yourself, time it right and you will deflect anything thrown at you, but beware, you only have a limited amount of failed uses.
- MOVELIST:
Prentiss:
- 236# - fireball
- 214# - cast spell
- 22# - read spellbook
Tom Follicle:
- 236# - beard grab
- 214# - Magic Missile
- 22# - Follicle burst
Long story short, this was my first game jam, started 9 days late, while working a night shift, while moving, not able to work on it in weekends but you know what, im happy, never thought i would be able to do as much as i did
I plan to keep working on this, add unimplemented features, new stages and characters, polish the gameplay and visuals
I had tons of fun, expect me in the next jam
Known issues:
- Tom Follicle has some missing hurt frames
- Contrasting dropshadow unimplemented (IKEMEN placeholder stages left ingame if readability is an issue)

While of course some more fleshed out graphics would do good for the readability of the game, I wanted to say the movement felt pretty good and very responsive. Both characters are fun, with the only thing I got tripped up on is one of Prentiss's spells where I didn't fully understand what it was meant to do.
Very strong start to what could be a good project. Some notes: Magic missile seems very OP, and limited counterspell uses seems like it could be a very centralizing mechanic and very difficult to balance around if development was continued.
